Seoul shoot with Lune

While I was in Korea I managed to connect with and shoot with an amazing model; Lune. So here are a few images from that shoot and some thoughts on the topic of connecting with new models.

New photographers tend to be imitated by the idea of approaching models and offering a shoot, and quite justifiably. I messaged some 10 or 15 models before coming to Korea and out of those I got 4 replies: 1 was in a different city, 1 didn't shoot anymore, and only 2 were up for a shoot. When I finally got to Korea a week later, 1 was still up for a shoot and the second didn't reply any more (to be fair to her, she did seem to have quite an active and busy lifestyle). The take away here is, it's a numbers game.

I think we clicked quite nicely with Lune from the get go. She mentioned that she's a designer for her brand of pole wear and that her husband is also a photographer. Here's the fun part, I've been following her husband on Instagram for quite some time and knew her through his profile, but had no idea they were together! What a curious world.

All these images were taken in Hyochang Park, near the Sookmyung Women's University. It's definitely a place with quite the variety of places to shoot.
